Position Description

The Research Technologist I is responsible for applying general technical knowledge and skills to perform routine standardized laboratory research techniques and procedures

Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Provide technical assistance to fellows, students and researchers or working on one main project or several smaller projects designed by the investigator
  • Perform under general supervision a variety of diversified assignments of a technical nature
  • Plan tests, measure and make simple components
  • Set up and maintain lab equipment
  • Assist in developing, devising or improving existing methods, practices and procedures
  • Order and maintain inventories of supplies, animals and equipment
  • Communicate and maintain records of experimental data
  • Assume responsibility for accuracy of techniques using established policies and procedures to resolve technical problems
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and accept responsibility
  • Assist and/or train other lab personnel
  • Understand importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications
  • A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Employment Type: Temporary 4 month contract, 1.0 FTE
