We are looking to add a compassionate, animal lover who is responsible, reliable and an enthusiastic team player to our growing team and family
HOURS: Specifically looking for FULL-TIME OVERNIGHT SHIFTS, EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS: 2p-12a & 10p-8a shifts. We are open 24/7/365 days a year – weekend and holiday availability are musts.
JOB SUMMARY: We are a constantly growing and changing practice who are equipped for routine procedures such as vaccines and surgeries, as well as emergencies. We also perform in-house radiographs, and ultrasounds. Dentals and dental radiography are also done on site.
Our ideal candidate must be:
- Able to multitask and still maintain a professional and organized work environment.
- Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and cleaning their housing space; ensuring housing space is sanitary and comfortable
- Experience in an ER/Referral Facility or fast paced practice is an asset
- Flexible and has a positive attitude
- Initiative is key
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Excellent customer service skills
- General housekeeping duties; i.e. Laundry, some dishes, sweeping/mopping, etc.
- Willingness to learn more regarding; pet nutrition, veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, etc.
- Assisting the Veterinarian and RVT with their duties
- Handling and restraint of animals for blood draws and other treatments.
- Experience with Avimark is an asset.
- Experience with some Reception duties; i.e. answering phones, booking appointments, and billing clients out is an asset
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-2 year Experience at a Veterinary clinic/hospital/animal facility
- Post-Secondary Veterinary Assistant program
- Veterinary Assistant: 2 years (preferred)
- Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
WAGES: Depending on experience and 3 month probationary period.
