What is the opportunity?
RBC Technology Infrastructure (TI) is executing one of the most ambitious transformation agendas in the bank's history - modernizing platforms, automating operations, and building the foundation for the Bank of Tomorrow.
This role is part of the TI Strategic Planning & Execution team mandated to help define and support TI's bold ambitions and transformation journey. As Senior Manager, TI Business Management, you will be instrumental in being a thought partner, challenger, and problem-solver working to identify, co-develop, and detail key strategies and initiatives that provide visibility and transparency into the evolution of the organization. The successful candidate will lead analysis of strategic issues, opportunities and threats that face TI, T&O and RBC, drive resolution and implementation plans for critical opportunities, and, build and support a competitive intelligence framework to proactively shape and guide our evolution as a tech-centric organization. The successful candidate will work closely with members of TI Strategic Planning & Execution team, TI Senior Leaders, and their respective teams from across the organization to manage critical business management initiatives & strategies for TI (e.g., Vendor & Commercial Strategy, Financial PARs, Briefing Notes, Contract analysis, etc.)
What will you do?
- Work with the Director, TI Strategic Planning Led to lead & manage strategy development, analysis and business management initiatives to evolve TI.
- Lead / support development of strategies around core TI initiatives, ensuring strategies and implementation plans are well developed, clearly articulated, supported by a solid business case/rationale, and are aligned with the broader group's vision.
- Lead the development of core business management & vendor / commercial strategy initiatives, including but not limited to financial PARs, Briefing Notes, Contract Analysis, etc.
- Collaborate with TI Delivery & Execution to translate high-level business strategy & objectives into actionable technical initiatives, ensuring feasibility with infrastructure capabilities, scalability and industry best practices.
- Communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes within the group and to business stakeholders, to ensure awareness and buy in at all levels.
- Work with partner strategy teams across RBC to identify opportunities for strategic alignment and collaboration.
- Produce materials to summarize strategies, progress and the path forward for senior executive review, discussion, and decision.
- Establish a strong relationship of trust and credibility across the organization.
- Be a combination of coach and individual contributor as part of dynamic, collaborative strategy planning & delivery team.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- 4+ years' experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic communications, or strategy experience within a Financial Services, FinTech or technology company.
- Experience in project teams – including project design, management, implementation – as well as developing the associated project team through clear direction and performance feedback.
- Strong interpersonal / stakeholder management skills across levels of the organization.
- Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence.
- Strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
- Comfort working in ambiguous situations and across different lines of business.
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into business language.
- Keen interest in innovative technologies.
NICE TO HAVE:
- MBA or other post-graduate degree.
- Experience working in a matrixed, professional services organization.
- Senior-level leader or C-suite experience.
