As a Solution Analyst, you will bridge business needs and technology solutions, analyzing processes, identifying improvements, and designing solutions to meet Remsoft's objectives. You'll ensure solutions align with business goals, enhance productivity, and drive innovation.

The ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can clearly explain optimization processes and results to non-technical stakeholders. They thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments, working seamlessly with product owners, developers, and domain experts. With strong organizational skills, they are adept at managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and large datasets. Driven by curiosity, they are committed to continuous learning and staying up to date with new tools and technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Assess technological requirements and business processes in forestry operations for optimization and innovation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design planning models enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and profitability
• Translate business requirements into solution specifications, including functional and technical aspects
• Work with product & development teams, sales, and clients to implement solutions within timelines and budgets
• Provide ongoing support, user training, and troubleshooting during and after implementation
• Review and evaluate solutions to identify improvements and recommend enhancements
• Participate in enhanced support services projects
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in forestry management

Qualifications:

• Language: Strong English oral and written communication skills
• Software: Programming or scripting for data processing and analysis (e.g., Python, R, VBA, or similar); experience manipulating large datasets (e.g., SQL/database programming); ability to visualize data, prepare reports, dashboards
• Years of Experience: 2–5 years
• Education: B.Sc. in Forestry, Operations Research/Analytics, natural resources-related science, or 2+ years in forest operational experience
• Other: Ability to work in a team environment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and data accuracy

Assets:

• Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Pro, QGIS)
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Familiarity with industry standard forest planning tools, especially Woodstock Optimization System
• Strong consulting skills (active listening, understanding client challenges)
• Training/experience in operations research techniques (linear programming, simulation, heuristics)
• Experience working on lengthy, multi-person, multi-vendor contracts

Location:
We are committed to finding the best candidate and are flexible regarding location. While Remsoft's headquarters are in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and Ottawa, Ontario, we are open to a range of working arrangements for this role. Candidates can work fully remote, in a hybrid setup, or from our office.
