Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing steel components and structures using various fabrication techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, blueprint reading, and proficiency with a range of tools and equipment. The Fabricator will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and precision of our products, supporting projects across construction, ductwork, and manufacturing sectors.

Duties

  • Interpret and work from detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to fabricate components accurately.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as torches, ironworker, band saw, and welding tools (MIG and TIG welding).
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other measuring devices to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
  • Perform rigging tasks to lift and position heavy materials safely using cranes or forklifts.
  • Execute machining operations to refine parts to precise specifications.
  • Read and interpret schematics for ductwork, assembly processes, and construction projects.
  • Conduct welding operations including MIG and TIG welding to join metal components securely.
  • Utilize plasma cutting equipment for precise cutting of metals according to project requirements.
  • Operate Ironworker machines for bending and shearing metal accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to welding, machining, and handling heavy materials.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are upheld.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments with knowledge of welding (MIG/TIG), machining, and assembly processes. CWB MIG welding an asset.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
  • Ability to operate machinery such as plasma cutters, press brakes, and welding equipment confidently.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in a manufacturing or construction setting.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials as required.
