JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager and Director , this full-time position requires management of health records and process billing claims.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum High school diploma; Medical office administration/ Health records management diploma preferred or a combination of experience and relevant education.

· Minimum 1-year experience working in an administrative role in a clinic setting.

· Understanding and working knowledge of OHIP Billing an asset.

· Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset.

· EMR knowledge/ experience an asset.

· Advanced typing and computer skills- working knowledge of MS Office.

SKILLS:

· Effective communication (written and verbal), excellent organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills to work on multiple tasks.

· Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, high stress environment.

· Ability to demonstrate high level of judgment, tact and diplomacy in interacting with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

· Ability to work responsibly in an interdisciplinary team environment.

· Ability to remain unbiased and handle highly sensitive conflicts efficiently.

· Demonstrate ability to accept assigned or delegated functions.

· Demonstrate ability to remain focused, flexible, and prioritize tasks in a busy and high-stress environment.

· Driver's License preferred.

· Ability to be flexible, stay connected and communicate (including some weekends, weeknights over the phone if needed).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Billing and Accounting:

o Managing OHIP Billing, Third Party Billing, IFH and UHIP Billing

o Assisting managers with report generations, remittance and tracking payment-related information corresponding to tests or consults done.

o Coordinating with Accounts about external payments

Operations:

o Generating daily reports on internal tasks, issues, billing, communication and reporting to manager to improve operational workflow.

o Communicating with respective stakeholders in the operations/ scheduling team about task completion related to patient records in a timely and efficient manner.

o Performing other delegated clinical and non-clinical office duties- (not limited to) uploading DICOM, Holter data, scanned reports; faxing, scanning, printing, collating documents, creating contracts, creating manuals, creating PowerPoint presentations, answering inquiries from all stakeholders and troubleshooting equipment when required.

o Being the liaison for all stakeholders and addressing any inquiries, concerns and questions.
