We are seeking an
Automation Specialist
to join our client's team at their
Lethbridge, AB
production facility.
Responsibilites:
- Maintain the reliability and integrity of PLC automation servers and processors.
- Troubleshoot, modify, and optimize ladder logic programs on Allen Bradley PLCs using RSLogix 500 and Studio 5000 software.
- Understand and execute the Process Control Network (PCN) strategy across production facilities, ensuring alignment at the site level.
- Promote and lead a strong safety culture among team members while ensuring reliability and performance of the process control network.
- Develop and implement a PLC automation support strategy for the site, including operator training and skill development.
- Assist in the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of new or upgraded mechanical and electrical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure continuous and efficient operation of facility equipment and machinery.
- Prepare labor and equipment cost estimates, and maintain accurate maintenance, inventory, and repair records.
- Provide leadership in maintenance activities or oversee assigned programs, processes, or special projects.
- Support plant-wide mechanical, electrical, and automation initiatives to improve system performance and reliability.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifiications:
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of combined education and/or hands-on experience in Industrial Technology or PLC Automation.
- Experienced in developing and configuring
HMI graphical interfaces
using
Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk View SE/ME
and
PanelBuilder32
software. - Skilled in creating, testing, and troubleshooting
PLC ladder logic programs
to support automated systems and process improvements. - Demonstrated working knowledge of
industrial electrical systems
, including exposure to voltage levels ranging from
24V DC to 600V 3-phase AC
.
