We are looking for multiple an Operations Supervisor to oversee and optimize the personnel, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations, within multiple areas of the plant. As we expand and strengthen our leadership team, these roles will play a key part in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and business objectives through best practices, safety focus, and team engagement.

Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, and working a rotating day/night roster of 12-hour shifts, you will be:
- Adhering to and promoting Rio Tinto's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards while actively engaging in our culture of care, courage, and curiosity.
- Engaging in continuous improvement of standards, policies, and procedures while identifying and driving safety and efficiency enhancements within relevant teams and areas
- Communicating and coordinating with peers the appropriate operating conditions, expectations, and targets for efficient shift change/hand over
- Identifying areas where improvement to safety performance is necessary and initiating this change within the appropriate teams and areas.
- Ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood and setting performance targets to encourage the necessary/desired behaviours
- Taking ownership over efficient/effective problem solving, decision making, and action at the right levels
- Participating in the continuous improvement of standards, policies, and procedures
What you'll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A minimum education of a high school diploma or GED
- At minimum of a valid B.C. Class 7 (Novice) driver's license or equivalent
- Proven effective leadership skills: the ability to set direction, prioritize and achieve objectives, actively listen, and engage and motivate your team members.
- Clear, concise, and tactful communication along with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Previous supervisory experience
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Leadership experience in a unionized environment
- Experience in an industrial setting: mining, processing, manufacturing or related

The base salary range for this role is $84,000 - $126,000 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
