LDAR Technician

We are seeking a skilled LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing fugitive emissions detection, measurement, and reporting programs in alignment with provincial and federal GHG regulations.
You'll work hands-on in the field using advanced leak detection equipment (such as OGI cameras, Hi-Flow Samplers, and handheld instruments), ensuring Blue Chip's clients maintain compliance while identifying real opportunities for emission reduction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform LDAR surveys using OGI and other approved detection equipment.
- Accurately record, quantify, and classify fugitive emissions sources.
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection and repair reports.
- Support GHG, TIER, and environmental reporting programs.
- Work collaboratively with our measurement and data teams to ensure accurate, verified data capture.
- Maintain high safety and quality standards in all field operations.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of LDAR, emissions testing, or related field experience preferred.
- Understanding of Alberta AER, Saskatchewan, and federal methane regulations.
- Experience with OGI cameras (FLIR GF series) an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote locations.
- Safety certifications (H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, etc.) are assets.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Edmonton, AB T6N 1B4
