Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled TCP (Traffic Control Person) to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic around construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, paving, and general construction practices. The TCP will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards while coordinating with various teams on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage traffic control devices to ensure the safety of workers and the public around construction zones.
  • Operate heavy equipment as needed, including but not limited to paving machines and other machinery relevant to construction tasks.
  • Collaborate with construction crews to facilitate smooth operations and minimize disruptions to traffic flow.
  • Monitor site conditions and communicate any hazards or issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and protocols while performing duties on-site.
  • Assist in the training of new team members on traffic control procedures and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly within a paving or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of traffic control measures and safety practices related to construction sites.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining focus on individual responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to coordinate with team members and report site conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime as required by project demands.
