EDI Implementation Expert

Surpass is an early-stage B2B SaaS startup that has reimagined transactional integration from first principles. We've built an API-enabled, DAG-based EDI orchestration platform that uses generative and agentic AI to unlock the full promise of automated business-to-business supply chain integration.

We're looking for an EDI expert who can own customer implementations from kickoff to hypercare. You'll work directly with brands, 3PLs, and supply chain partners to deliver seamless integrations while helping shape how modern EDI should work. What You'll Be Working On

Here are the kinds of things you might tackle in your first few months:

• Own end-to-end implementation projects for retail and logistics EDI integrations across X12 transaction sets (850, 856, 810, etc.)
• Lead technical discovery, mapping requirements, and orchestration for brands, 3PLs, manufacturers, and SaaS partners
• Test and validate transactions through platforms like Rithum and SPS Commerce
• Manage project timelines, customer communication, and stakeholder coordination from kickoff through go-live and hypercare
• Leverage our AI-powered mapping and implementation tools to accelerate delivery and solve complex edge cases
• Collaborate with our engineering team to provide feedback on product improvements and customer needs
• Build trusted relationships with customers and trading partners as their primary point of contact

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years hands-on experience implementing EDI solutions in supply chain, retail, or logistics contexts
• Deep expertise with X12 standards and version releases (4010, 5010, etc.)
• Strong understanding of retail and logistics transaction sets: purchase orders, ASNs, invoices, inventory, acknowledgments, and more
• Experience testing and troubleshooting EDI transactions
• Proven ability to manage projects independently with strong communication and organizational skills
• Customer-facing experience with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities shift and speed matters

Bonus Points

• Experience with EDIFACT or other global EDI standards
• Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, or modern integration patterns
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (TypeScript, Python, etc.)
• Background in eCommerce, B2B integrations, or third-party logistics
• Experience with AI-assisted tools or enthusiasm for leveraging AI to transform traditional workflows
• Previous startup or high-growth company experience
