Happy in my Home (HIMH), Community Support Services of Niagara (CSSN) is currently seeking a contract part-time (up to 25 hours per week) Friendly Visiting and Lunch Out Coordinator. HIMH is a volunteer based, not-for-profit agency providing comprehensive support services to assist older adults and adults with disabilities to live independently in their home. Reporting to the Program Supervisor and Program Manager, the successful candidate will manage the Friendly Visiting and Lunch Out portfolios within the Niagara Region.

Responsibilities:

· Oversees all aspects of the Friendly Visiting (FV) and Lunch Out (LO) programs and services.

· Completes intake and assessment to determine client eligibility.

· Appropriately match volunteers to FV clients and monitor interactions.

· Coordinates and delivers LO activities aimed at increasing socialization, minimizing isolation, and improving quality of life.

· Liaises with Volunteer Coordinator regarding volunteer recruitment.

· Provides supervision and support to volunteers, clients and/or students placements.

· Monitors and follows up with clients/caregivers/ to confirm satisfaction with services provided.

· Maintains strong communication with colleagues and community partners, as appropriate.

· Engages in program promotional initiatives aimed at program growth and sustainability.

· Explores diverse communities.

· Makes payment for purchased services such as food, groceries, programming materials and maintains appropriate records of payment.

· Maintains attendance records for activities.

· Record management maintenance.

· Attends seminars, meetings and maintain current knowledge of agency policies and procedures/practices.

· Performs other duties and functions as required.

Requirements:

· Educational background in recreational therapy, social/community services, and/or program development, planning and execution.

· Proven experience working with older adults, and/or adults with disabilities as well as volunteers.

· Proven ability to be creative, energetic, adaptable, and flexible.

· Ability to take initiative, work independently and as a member of a team.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including over the telephone and while facilitating groups (virtually or in-person).

· Strong conflict resolution skills and abilities.

· Ability to demonstrate and understand multiculturalism and cultural/religious beliefs.

· Proficient in Microsoft office suite and database management.

· Has own vehicle, with a minimum $1million liability insurance, mandatory.

· Valid Ontario driver's licence, mandatory.

· Vulnerable Sector Police Check, mandatory.

· Valid safe food handling certificate preferred.

· Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
