Procurement Analyst

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Responsible for meeting our sales commitments for size, timing, and quality through participation in the development of the procurement plan.
• Responsible for the daily execution of the procurement plan.
• Responsible for scheduling and confirmation of live haul, catching and producer loading times as required.
• Creation and maintaining accurate reports.
• Assist in providing proactive input into both producer and claim resolution processes.
• Building strong working relationships and daily interactions with producers, operations, field staff, feed partners, optimization, CFO, CFIA, catching, and live-haul.
• Review as required all internal (RWA), CFO and CFIA documentation (i.e. Form 3)
• Accountable for contributing to the delivery of the team's performance objectives.
• Special projects as requested.
• Demonstration and commitment to the Maple Leaf's Leadership Edge Values.
• Using a Six Sigma approach to drive forward continuous improvement opportunities

What You'll Bring:

• Post-secondary education or University Degree in Agriculture, Business, Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred.
• 1-3 years working experience.
• Working knowledge of the poultry procurement functional processes.
• Demonstrated strong commitment to the Maple Leaf's Leadership Edge Values.
• Strong influencing (Persuasion and Negotiation), assertiveness and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong planning, analytical, decision making, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
• An ability to work independently; be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
• High level of computer competency including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
