About the Department of International Business, Supply Chain Management and Aviation

The Department of International Business, Supply Chain Management and Aviation (IBSCA) offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree majoring/minoring in International Business or Supply Chain Management along with its newly launched Bachelor of Aviation Management degree (BAM). The Supply Chain Management, BBA major is designed to educate students on trends in global supply chains, international trade and the growing need for businesses to develop more effective processes to create and distribute products and services. The International Business BBA major prepares students to operate and compete in the global business environment through a combination of theory and practical application. In addition to the majors, the Department also oversees the Data Analytics minor.

The four-year Bachelor of Aviation Management (BAM) launched in Fall 2024 is in high demand. This 40- course degree program offers students two concentration options - Flight Crew Options and Aviation Operations – both building on the existing Diploma in Aviation and Bachelor of Business Administration. BAM is designed for students who plan to work in various aviation company operations, airline management or airport management. The concentration in Flight Crew Options offers an optional Commercial Pilot and Multi-Engine Instrument Rating to prepare students for a role as a pilot as well as be ready for management opportunities as their flying career develops.  The concentration in Aviation Operations focuses on a greater development of management skills, specific to the aviation industry. Graduates will learn about the many complex issues affecting global operations, including economic and environmental sustainability, financial operations, logistics, and best practices for managing people and processes related to the aviation industry.

In addition to BAM and increased Diploma enrollments, a new hangar, simulator and an expanded fleet are expected to be ready for utilization in September 2025. Flight training is conducted from the Springbank Airport and classroom instruction and simulator training is located at the main Calgary (Lincoln Park) campus.
