About the Role

R. Work Group is seeking an Employment Specialist to support the federally funded CareerFriends Program. This role is central to building strong relationships with employers and supporting individuals to prepare for, secure, and retain meaningful employment. The position is a full-time term role ending March 30, 2026, with potential extension for up to two years, subject to continued funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead employer marketing and engagement efforts, including drafting and implementing an employer marketing plan.
  • Conduct outreach and cold contact with prospective employers to build new partnerships.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing employer partners.
  • Work with employers to identify workforce needs and create sustainable employment opportunities for clients.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and vocational supports to clients to prepare them for employment success.
  • Collaborate with the program team to ensure strong outcomes for both employers and clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting in line with funder requirements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Services, Education, Rehabilitation, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and marketing skills, with experience in employer outreach and relationship management.
  • Experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, or workforce development considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and employer needs.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Opportunity for an individual experienced with youth farthest from employment.
