Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the automotive industry while working under the guidance of experienced technicians. The Apprentice will assist with various automotive repair and maintenance tasks, contributing to a high standard of customer service and vehicle performance.

The applicant must be registered in the Alberta Apprenticship Program. We are not looking for unskilled apprentices.

Duties

  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues under the supervision of a certified technician.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for automotive repairs.
  • Support the assembly and disassembly of vehicle components as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely completion of repairs and customer satisfaction.
  • Learn to read and interpret schematics related to automotive systems.
  • Engage with customers to provide updates on vehicle status and address any inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Our shop is not a dealership, we service cars and motorcycles.
  • A first year at least apprentiship, with a willingness to learn more advanced skills.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques.
  • Experience or coursework in automotive repair is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • A keen attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects as needed during repairs and maintenance tasks.
