Medical Office Assistant

We are a team of six family physicians providing longitudinal and comprehensive primary care in a medical clinic by Metrotown.
Where? Kingsway, Burnaby
When? Position starts as soon as possible. We would like to schedule a work interview to see if we are a good fit.
Hours? Looking for someone who can work full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30 - 4:30.
You will take charge of all administrative duties related to patient care and assist the doctors with both clinical and non-clinical administrative tasks.
Sample of a MOA's contributions:
- Anticipates and completes all administrative duties for medical doctors
- Schedules and confirms appointments
- Maintains updated and accurate patient records
- Electronically documents all MOA encounters with patients when necessary
- Annotates and files all incoming documents
- Answers and prioritizes incoming calls from doctors' offices and patients, takes messages, and relays information to doctors
- Comforts challenging patients by anticipating patients' anxieties and answering patients' questions
- Maintains office inventory and equipment, anticipates needed supplies and orders
- Works as a team with other MOAs
- Identifies areas of improvement and participates in quality improvement activities
Must have attributes:
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- High level of proficiency with a computer
- Types at 50+ words per minute
- Good communication both orally and written
- Punctual and professional
- Receptionist or customer service experience is an asset
- Intention to stay with the clinic long-term
Nice to have attributes:
- Proficient use of OSCAR EMR
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Additional languages including Mandarin and Cantonese
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
