Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee all daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service across sales, inventory, food preparation, and customer interactions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that reflects Hankki's brand and standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, food safety protocols, and health & safety regulations.
  • Control inventory levels, monitor revenue, and adapt operational procedures to optimize profitability.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Interview, hire, and onboard new team members, ensuring proper training on Hankki standards, recipes, and customer service expectations.
  • Create and manage work schedules, assign tasks effectively, and monitor employee performance to ensure accountability and productivity.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities to team members to foster growth and retention.
  • Build a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with Hankki's H.A.N.K.K.i values (Help Each Other, Act With Heart, Nurture the Team, Keep the Promise, Kindness Matters, Include Everyone).

Customer Experience

  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Lead by example in delivering warm, attentive, and memorable guest experiences.
  • Implement upselling techniques and motivate the team to meet or exceed sales targets.

Business & Financial Management

  • Analyze sales trends and cost reports to make informed business decisions.
  • Adjust pricing strategies, labor allocation, and ordering practices to achieve store profitability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating for cost-efficient, high-quality products.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with other Store Managers, Franchise Partners, and HQ departments to share insights, best practices, and align on company-wide goals.
  • Support company events, new store openings, campaigns, and other special projects as needed.
  • Actively participate in manager meetings and communication channels, contributing to ongoing improvement and cross-store collaboration.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of management experience in the hospitality, retail, or customer service industries.
  • Experience in a kitchen environment is a strong asset.
  • Completion of a post-secondary program in Hospitality, Business Management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking capabilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of sales reports, cost control, inventory management, and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel for work-related purposes.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure environments with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs., and perform cleaning duties.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Open to supporting multiple store locations within Calgary and across other parts of Canada, as needed.
