Key Accounts & On-Premise Manager

Work Location: Based in Red Deer, frequent travel throughout Alberta

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Accounts & On-Premise Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving sales targets. As a Key Account & On-Premise Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth by promoting our products and providing exceptional customer service.

This role is based in Red Deer but will require frequent travel to Edmonton, Calgary, and throughout Alberta.

A Key Account is defined as any group of businesses that are maintained by a parent company/owner that oversees their route-to-market, distribution & marketing strategies. These groups are managed by Category Managers, Buyers, or Directors who work with the Key Account Manager to build an ongoing, mutually beneficial business relationship.

On-premises means products or services consumed at the place where they're sold. These establishments include restaurants, bars, pubs, fast food, hair salons, nail salons, hotel lounges, etc. They may be a Key Account or an independent business.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Prospecting and Lead Generation

  • Identify and target potential customers through research, networking, and cold calling.
  • Generate leads and develop an ongoing pipeline of opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Effectively communicate the features and benefits of our products to potential and existing customers through professional presentations & data-based selling
  • Listen and identify potential customer objections and develop a plan to overcome them
  • Ability to convert leads into new accounts and generate revenue promptly
  • Ability to grow sales with existing customers and increase existing revenue month over month and year over year.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with existing and prospective Red Deer On-Premise customers, both Key Account and independent.
  • Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with existing and prospective provincial Key Account customers, both retail & on-premise. This includes but is not limited to, retail liquor stores, bars, restaurants, event centres, convenience stores/gas bars, grocery stores (non-alc), recreational facilities, salons/barber shops, etc.
  • Build and maintain a consistent schedule of contact with existing and prospective Key Account & On-Premise Customers, including email, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Market Research

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes, and share best practices/insights ongoing
  • Provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams to enhance product/service offerings and strategies through monthly reports.
  • Source out new avenues of business (grocery suppliers, etc.) outside of traditional liquor sales outlets.

Sales Reporting and Analysis

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including contacts, opportunities, closed deals and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in CRM tool & shared Google Drive platforms
  • Populate CRM on a weekly basis with customer interactions & next steps
  • Provide weekly updates to the sales team on all pertinent Key Account & On-Premise business, as well as gather in-market feedback from them
  • Prepare monthly reports and communicate sales performance, expected forecasted sales, market trends, and other relevant information or as requested by sales & marketing.

Customer Engagement

  • Attend relevant customer-led events when appropriate & aligned with sales goals
  • Set up & execute in-store tastings with key account groups where relevant
  • Find creative ways to grow our business through on-premise events and partnerships that are mutually beneficial to our customers and Troubled Monk.

A competitive salary plus bonus will be provided. The compensation package will include a vehicle allowance and cell phone. Expected total compensation package in the $78,000 to $83,000 range.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Sales experience in the industry required
  • Motivated to improve, grow and tackle challenges
  • Ability to build strong relationships both inside and outside the organization
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Google Suite
  • Positive, optimistic and upbeat attitude. Ability to 'read the room' and relate to different people in a variety of settings
  • Proven experience in sales, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to multitask, handling multiple products, customers, and events at the same time
