Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join our Water & Wastewater Conveyance team in Burnaby, BC. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role on major water and wastewater treatment projects that directly support the growth, resilience, and sustainability of communities across British Columbia.

We're looking for a motivated, collaborative professional with deep experience in civil and municipal engineering—someone who brings initiative, strong technical judgment, and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, engage directly with clients and regulatory agencies, and play a key role in delivering some of the region's most impactful projects.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and project management of civil systems for municipal water, wastewater, and/or wastewater drainage conveyance and treatment facilities
  • Provide technical design leadership and coordinate with project teams, clients, and regulators
  • Prepare design documentation, technical reports, project specifications, and contract documents
  • Develop construction cost estimates and conduct constructability reviews
  • Support contract administration and perform site inspections during construction
  • Contribute to proposal development and project scoping
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering + 12 years of relevant experience in civil or municipal engineering
  • Experience in planning, design, construction inspection, and contract administration for municipal water/wastewater related projects
  • P.Eng with EGBC or the ability to obtain registration within 18 months

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years leading design and project management for water/wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure
  • Strong experience in proposal writing and job scoping
  • Familiarity with BIM, CAD, and hydraulic modelling platforms
  • Contract Administration certification (MMCD, CCDC, etc.)
  • Excellent technical writing skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License
