Union PCP Retention Incentive Program
We are pleased to offer a retention incentive program for Union Primary Care Paramedics (PCP). Eligible employees may qualify for the following bonuses upon completion of continuous service:
- 1-Year Commitment: $3,000 retention bonus
- 2-Year Commitment: $7,000 retention bonus
- 3-Year Commitment: $10,000 retention bonus
Full program details, eligibility criteria, and payment timelines will be discussed during the hiring process.
*The core/flex units are part of a 90-day Peak Car pilot project running from June 15 to September 15, with potential for a 90 day extension. The successful candidates will work a 4-on / 4-off shift rotation from 13:00 to 01:00 as per below:
Peak Car

Effective dates of schedule: June 15 - September 15, 2025
Please note that Alberta Health Services (AHS) reserves the right to end the project at any time with 30 days' notice. If the project is not renewed after the 90-day period or is ended early, the unit will revert to the core-flex model as per the schedule noted above.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid Alberta Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) practice permit meeting provincial EMS standards.
- Current, valid Alberta Class IV driver's license.
- Up-to-date with all mandatory training requirements, including Medical Communications Protocols (MCP) and Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC).
