Black Raven Tattoos and Custom Designs in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, is currently seeking an exceptional and experienced Lead Tattoo Artist to join our creative team and oversee daily operations of our professional private tattoo studio, located in the Peace Hills Trust Building, a bank and main traffic area within the community of Fort Qu'Appelle. This is not just a chair rental - it's a leadership role within a rapidly growing artistic network that includes Black Raven Tattoos, a division under The Mineau Academy for the Arts, where the next generation of Tattoo Artists are being trained.

The Successful candidate will be a master of their craft, passionate about art, mentorship, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and client care. You will oversee shop operations, guide apprentices through the Academy's tattoo apprenticeship program, and help uphold the creative and ethical vision of both Black Raven Tattoos and Custom Designs, and The Mineau Academy for the Arts - where art, innovation, and human connection come together.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tattoo work in a variety of styles with artistic precision and professionalism.
• Oversee day-to-day studio operations, including cleanliness, supplies, and client scheduling.
• Mentor and supervise tattoo apprentices from the Tattoo Apprenticeship Program through The Mineau Academy for the Arts, ensuring proper technical and ethical development.
• Maintain a safe, sterile, and welcoming studio environment that complies with provincial health and safety regulations.
• Represent both Black Raven Tattoos and Custom Designs, and The Mineau Academy for the Arts reputation for excellence, creativity, and integrity within the community.
• Collaborate with the Academy Director on student evaluations, events, and exhibitions.
• Promote studio services through effective upselling techniques and product demonstrations in various marketing campaigns.
• Provide an inclusive environment for both students and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional tattooing experience in a licensed studio.
• Proven artistic versatility and a strong professional portfolio.
• Solid understanding of sanitation, sterilization, and blood borne pathogen standards.
• Experience mentoring or training junior artists (Preferred but not required).
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $120.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
