Join the Finance and Administration Unit in the Mining Policy and Sector Development, where you'll play a key role in delivering financial analysis, operational support, and administrative services that help drive strategic planning and resource management across the division.
About the jobAs a part of the Finance and Administration Unit, you will:
- provide financial reporting and analysis to support operational planning and financial management activities
- provide advice, information and recommendations on financial management, administrative policies and procedures and procurement
- contribute to the development and implementation of effective procedures, systems, and processes
- review all iExpense and purchase card transactions
- monitor, track and report on contract agreements between the division and external service providers
- prepare hiring packages for fixed-term and regular staff
Financial and administrative expertise
You have demonstrated knowledge of:
- accounting practices, financial management principles, resource allocation, budget and financial forecasting, and expenditure controls
- procurement processes and procedures
You have the ability to:
- gather and verify accurate staffing data from multiple sources to prepare hiring documentation
You can:
- apply effective analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to support financial and administrative functions
- extract/manipulate data, and analyze financial information to establish and monitor the status of the budget and identify and resolve discrepancies, problems or concerns
- plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
You can:
- collaborate effectively with colleagues, senior management, and stakeholders, providing financial guidance and support with a strong client service focus
- clearly and concisely communicate information and provide advice on procurement and financial reporting requirements
- prepare and present various documents, including presentations, reports, and summaries
You have demonstrated experience with:
- integrated financial control systems to monitor budgets and expenditures, identify and explain variances, and conduct financial analysis
- computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, financial systems, and internet tools to support financial and administrative tasks
- financial reporting systems to effectively extract and manipulate data for a variety of analytical and planning needs
