Barista, Food Prep, Cashier

Looking for a part-time barista/ all rounder to join our small team at a cafe in downtown Aurora, Ontario

Candidates must be available to work Tuesday and Sunday (two shifts per week), with the opportunity to fill in for other staff when on vacation or sick . The ideal candidate must be available to work mornings starting at 7 am.

Primary duties Include but are not limited to:

· Preparing espresso-based drinks

· Helping to prepare sandwiches, smoothies and other simple food items

· Cleaning work space at end of day, including sweeping and mopping floor, taking out trash

· Tracking inventory & restocking

· Counter service/customer service; experience using a POS

Experience & Other Requirements

· Experience working at a restaurant, cafe, or other hospitality industry environment

· Experience making espresso-based drinks

· Friendly and excellent communication skills. Potential hires must sincerely enjoy interacting and getting to know regular customers. Please don't apply if you don't like making conversation with people

· A self-starter who takes initiative without being told, especially when it comes to keeping the work space stocked, clean and tidy

· Candidates must have ability to go up and down stairs several times per day

*****Candidates must have their Food Safety Certificate or be willing to get it before employment begins. This is non-negotiable. Employer willing to pay for course for the right candidate

·Candidates who live in Aurora or nearby will be given preference.

Compensation: $17.60 per hour, plus tips

Part-time: Two 8-hour shifts per week (Tuesday and Sunday) plus ability to fill in on short notice for staff who are sick or on vacation.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $17.60 per hour
