Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and service, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The Food Service Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring smooth restaurant management and fostering a positive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily food service operations, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling to ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage team members through effective team management, including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee cash handling processes using Micros POS systems and ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures to maintain high hygiene standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and proper portioning.
- Monitor customer service quality, address guest concerns promptly, and foster a hospitable environment.
- Assist in restaurant management tasks such as inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Lead by example in hospitality excellence, including serving guests when necessary and supporting the team during busy periods.
- Implement operational policies to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within the food service or restaurant industry is required.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety protocols.
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is preferred.
- Previous restaurant management or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and motivate staff.
- Familiarity with food industry standards including food handling, serving, and kitchen operations.
- Experience in interviewing potential staff members and conducting performance reviews is a plus.
