Design-Led, Award-Winning Studio

Vancouver, BC

Concept-to-Construction Ownership, Mentorship, Growth

Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 (based on experience)

About The Firm
We're partnering with a well-established, design-driven architecture and interiors practice based in Vancouver. The studio is known for its contemporary, detail-oriented approach and has built a strong reputation for thoughtful work across residential, hospitality, workplace, and cultural sectors. Their projects balance creativity with technical precision, resulting in spaces that feel timeless, refined, and deeply connected to their context.

The team works collaboratively across disciplines, encouraging designers to take full ownership from concept through construction. Leadership is hands-on and approachable, mentorship is genuine, and the environment is one that nurtures growth, curiosity, and design excellence. The firm's work continues to be recognized by both clients and peers for its clarity, craft, and innovation.

About The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Interior Designer / Project Manager or Interior Architect to lead interior architecture projects from early concept and visioning through documentation, procurement, and construction administration. This role is ideal for a senior who loves client-facing leadership, deep collaboration with architects and consultants, and elevating interiors through rigorous detailing, materiality, custom millwork, and lighting design, while steering project delivery, budgets, and schedules.

You'll contribute to a diverse slate of work including multifamily, hospitality, retail and single family residential projects, shaping spaces that balance beauty, functionality, and longevity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead interiors across all phases: research and concept, programming, space planning, test fits, schematic design, design development, tender/permit/IFC documentation, procurement support, and construction administration.
  • Own client relationships: run meetings and presentations, manage expectations, track scope, schedule, and budget, and maintain clear, proactive communication.
  • Develop compelling design narratives, palettes, and FF&E strategies; direct custom millwork and interior architectural details with a focus on craft and constructability.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, consultants, suppliers, and builders to uphold design intent and technical excellence.
  • Produce and review thorough drawing sets, specifications, and schedules; lead QA/QC for interiors deliverables.
  • Manage CA tasks: RFIs, submittals/shop drawings, site reviews, deficiency lists, mock-ups, and close-out.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior designers; contribute to internal standards, libraries, and BIM workflows.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of interior design or interior architecture experience, including full project cycle leadership and construction administration.
  • Strong portfolio in at least two of: hospitality/wellness, retail, single family residential or multifamily projects.
  • Advanced Revit proficiency for interiors (documentation and coordination); fluency with Adobe CC and SketchUp/Enscape or equivalent visualization tools.
  • Expert knowledge of interiors documentation, detailing (millwork, stairs/guards, wet areas), finishes, lighting coordination, and specifications.
  • Solid understanding of BCBC/VBBL, accessibility and life-safety considerations for interior environments.
  • Confident project management skills: scopes, fees, workplans, risk management, budgets, and schedules.
  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Interior Architecture; NCIDQ, IDC, LEED, or PIDIM/IDIBC/AAA registration (or eligibility) considered assets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills; collaborative leadership style.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary aligned with senior responsibility, plus performance-based review structure.
  • Comprehensive benefits, wellness supports, paid vacation, and stat holidays.
  • Hybrid work model with flexibility to support work-life balance.
  • Professional development: mentorship & continuing education
  • A collaborative environment known for craft, innovation, and award-winning design outcomes.

If you're a senior interiors lead who thrives on concept-to-construction ownership and wants to shape memorable spaces in a supportive, design-driven studio, I'd love to connect.
