YMCA Camping and Outdoor Education offers outdoor experiences that foster personal growth and build community. After taking part in our programs, children and youth return home more confident, independent, and with new friendships. YMCA Camp Pine Crest is an overnight camp serving children, families, and organizations through naturally focused programs that embody the mission, vision, and outcomes of the YMCA. Camp Pine Crest is made up of 650 acres of Muskoka wilderness surrounded by 3 interconnected lakes with 8km of shoreline; has over 26km of hiking trails and 7,500 sq. ft. of dock and has 60 buildings.
The Camp Office Supervisor is responsible for managing administrative operations and supporting the coordination of camp logistics. This role includes leading Office Staff, overseeing communication and registration processes, and ensuring smooth camper arrivals, departures, and transportation. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and attention to financial tracking and inventory management. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for fostering positive relationships with campers, families, and staff. The Camp Office Supervisor contributes to a well-organized and welcoming camp environment through effective leadership and hands-on support.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate arrival and departure days, manage phone calls and general email, distribute incoming and outgoing mail, upload photos and updates to BUNK1, order office supplies, coordinate camper packages, manage the camp store including petty cash and merchandise restock, oversee postcards and birthday cards, coordinate bus pick-up and drop-off, update office and bussing budget trackers, and send bus invoices to finance
- Collaborate with the Registration Office to ensure waitlists, busing changes, and cancellations are managed appropriately
- Provide leadership to Office Staff by training, coaching, motivating, monitoring performance, and conducting mid- and end-of-summer performance appraisals to ensure staff meet role expectations and achieve camp objectives
- Build relationships continuously with campers, staff, volunteers, and families
- Act as a positive role model for all participants and fellow staff by embodying YMCA values and following YMCA camp guidelines, policies, procedures, and Ontario Camps Association guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
You bring:
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required by the first day of employment and valid until at least the last day of the contract
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
- Minimum 1 year of office and administrative experience
- Valid Driver's license is preferred
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve collective results
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with members, staff, and volunteers
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both new and experienced staff
- Ability to deliver feedback in a timely, professional, and constructive manner
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays is required
- Minimum 18 years old by the start of contract
