My client, an established employer, is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in Protection & Control (P&C) systems design for utility substations (12kV to 500kV).

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on delivering high-quality, safe, and reliable design solutions for low to medium-complexity projects.

This is a 1 year contract with potential to extend ; hybrid in Vancouver.

What You'll Do

  • Design protection and control systems for transmission substations (12kV–500kV).
  • Prepare design packages — including single line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts.
  • Develop project documentation such as specifications, design bases, estimates, test plans, and reports.
  • Provide signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR).
  • Support field activities — providing technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews.
  • Conduct equipment condition assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Specify and procure materials and related equipment.
  • Review and provide technical guidance on designs prepared by others.
  • Develop and deliver training to peers and end-users on system operation and theory.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC or eligible for registration.
  • Strong understanding of utility protection and control systems, design standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency with CAD systems and standard industry design/analysis software.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with digital sign and seal technology is an asset.
