Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, along with exceptional leadership skills to manage kitchen operations efficiently. This role requires a passion for the food industry, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage food preparation and cooking processes, adhering to recipes and portion control.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills and performance.
- Maintain inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while managing food costs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling practices.
- Utilize POS systems, including Micros POS, for efficient order processing and cash handling.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and communication.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new kitchen staff as necessary.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery to customers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or kitchen management roles.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen or food service environment is essential.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is preferred.
- Solid customer service skills with a focus on delivering an exceptional dining experience.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and financial management within a kitchen setting.
- Experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or cafes is advantageous.
