We are looking for Pipefitter Journeymen & Pipefitter Apprentices to work in Grande Prairie area.

Job Summary:

Carbonex is seeking Journeyman Pipefitters and Pipefitter Apprentices, to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, operate a two-ton picker truck, and hydrotest spools in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems
  • Measure, cut, thread, pipes using hand and power tools
  • Install and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and equipment
  • Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other testing equipment
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to complete projects
  • Follow safety procedures and adhere to industry standards and codes
  • Work on a variety of pipe systems, including high-pressure and high-temperature pipelines
  • Conduct maintenance and repair work on existing piping systems, valves, and other components
  • Prepare work areas and ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available
  • Maintain and operate picker truck
  • Know how to rig piping and structural steel
  • Ability to perform material takeoffs for piping systems based on project specifications
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Local to the Grande Prairie region preferred (LOA positions may be available).
  • Experience operating or assisting with picker truck operations.
  • Field experience in bolt-up, torquing, threading, hydrotesting, rigging/lifting, and general construction tasks.
  • Ability to read blueprints, piping isometrics, and P&IDs (asset).
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Experience hauling trailers.
  • Must be a registered apprentice or willing to register.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test.
  • Willing and able to work in both shop and field settings, including out-of-town work when required.

We prioritize local applicants who possess additional experience and safety certifications.

Hiring for multiple positions

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $26.00-$44.00 per hour
