Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. This leadership role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our store, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to motivate and develop staff. Bilingual abilities and retail management experience are highly valued to enhance team communication and customer engagement.
Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Lead and supervise store staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of customer service.
- Manage merchandising efforts to optimize product placement, pricing strategies, and promotional displays.
- Handle payroll processing, scheduling, and administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and inventory management.
- Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and ensure accurate cash register operations.
- Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage vendor relationships to maintain stock levels and product quality.
- Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to build a strong team.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store standards.
- Foster a positive shopping environment through excellent customer service and effective communication skills.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience in retail sales or store management.
- Strong background in merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management.
- Experience with POS systems, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and cash handling procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train & develop staff effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in time management and multitasking.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred for enhanced communication with diverse customers.
- Effective negotiation skills for vendor relations and conflict resolution.
