Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support our optometrists in providing exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various clinical tasks and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice. A solid understanding of anatomy is essential, as you will be working closely with patients undergoing eye examinations and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist optometrists during patient examinations and procedures
  • Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical history and performing preliminary tests
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and sterilised
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care

Requirements

  • Knowledge of anatomy, particularly related to the eye and vision
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy and focus.
  • Compassionate approach towards patient care
