Business Analyst, Construction and Equipment

Responsibilities will include eliciting and documenting the actual needs of stakeholders—which frequently involves investigating and clarifying their expressed desires—to determine underlying business requirements.

With support, Business Analysts enable change within JDI by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders while also considering the potential implications of technology in the current business environment .

This position requires full-time on-site presence.

• As part of the JD Irving IT Team, you will be supporting the Construction and Equipment Division

• Understand business needs and how IT supports and enables business success

• Prioritizing and delivering IT service and solutions to meet business needs

• Providing input to the IT roadmap to support business strategy

• Modernizing processes by leveraging various technologies

• Understanding key business data and quality

• Performing requirements elicitation & documentation

• Building use cases (definition and development) and developing test cases

• Documenting business processes

• Understanding capability of analytics tools and enabling business to act from analytical insight

• Managing integrity, confidentiality, and security of all datasets

• Expediting data analysis and reporting

• Understanding the risk tolerance/profile of the business

• Collaborating with design and architecture

• Translating business process model to technical realization

• Participating in and in some cases leading IT projects

• Education Required: A university degree, college diploma or a related discipline

• At least 3 years work experience in a business environment

• Preferably experience in an IT work environment, or experience in Construction, Manufacturing or Heavy Equipment & Civil Engineering industries

• Expert experience in Microsoft Technologies, particularly in O365, the Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure Dev Ops (ADO)

• Strong understanding of mobile applications and devices

• Experience with securely integrating external and internal systems

• Customer focused: motivated by inspiring others to do things differently

• Technically inclined, process oriented and driven by a natural curiosity

• Happy in an environment where you can work independently as well as collaboratively

• A continuous learner: acquiring new skills and software applications is second nature
