Job Overview

Wine Cellar Solutions is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Millwork Shop Assistant to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will support the efficient operation of our millwork shop by assisting with materials handling, fabrication, assembly, and equipment maintenance. Your proactive approach and mechanical aptitude will contribute to producing high-quality custom wood products, ensuring smooth workflow and safety standards are maintained. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting the creation of premium millwork solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading, unloading, and movement of materials, and other power tools to ensure safe and efficient handling of raw materials and finished products
  • Support fabrication processes by operating hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment under supervision
  • Aid in assembly tasks, ensuring components are accurately fitted and assembled according to specifications
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and productivity within the millwork shop
  • Collaborate with team members during the fabrication and construction of custom millwork pieces, including cabinetry, moldings, and other wood products
  • Conduct routine inspections of tools and machinery to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
  • Assist with materials inventory management, including tracking supplies and preparing materials for upcoming jobs
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to uphold a secure working environment for everyone in the shop

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, carpentry, or warehouse environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and materials handling techniques is highly desirable
  • Basic mechanical knowledge related to fabrication, assembly, and construction processes
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely
  • Knowledge of millwork or woodworking is advantageous but not mandatory
