Software Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test scripts for diverse applications, including mobile (Android and iOS) and web-based systems.
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks utilizing tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, and scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, C#, or Bash.
• Conduct functional testing, system testing, regression testing, performance testing (using LoadRunner or similar tools), and user acceptance testing to validate software functionality against requirements.
• Develop and execute API testing strategies for RESTful APIs and SOAP web services to ensure seamless integration across systems.
• Collaborate with developers during the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) to identify bugs early through continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Perform root cause analysis on defects to facilitate quick resolution and improve overall product quality.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, defect reports, and test automation scripts using tools like HP ALM or Jira.
• Support release management activities by verifying software builds and coordinating deployment procedures across environments such as Windows, Linux, or cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions with business analysts and stakeholders to understand project scope and translate them into effective testing strategies.
• Contribute to process improvements by adopting Agile or Waterfall methodologies while aligning with best practices in QA/QC standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software testing within an Agile environment with a strong understanding of SDLC processes.
• Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience testing mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms using tools like Appium or similar solutions.
• Solid knowledge of RESTful API testing using Postman or REST-assured; familiarity with SOAP web services is a plus.
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, Bash (Unix shell), or Java for automation purposes.
• Experience working with version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, SVN (Subversion), or TFS (Team Foundation Server).
• Familiarity with database management systems including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, MongoDB or DB2 for data validation and analysis.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment processes.
• Ability to perform load testing using LoadRunner or similar tools; understanding performance tuning is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills for data analysis and troubleshooting complex issues related to software performance or functionality.

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
