This role requires a professional with a strong structural engineering background who can effectively manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in the Canadian heavy industrial fabrication sector, including projects with significant structural steel and pipe fabrication components.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects of varying complexity and size within the structural fabrication division, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal teams, external consultants, owners, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and contribute to cost estimating.
  • Assist in developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of project specifications and related documentation.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and cost targets.
  • Understand, execute, and/or direct work within Rozen's quality control guidelines for structural deliverables.
  • Comply with Rozen's EH&S program, with a strong focus on safety throughout all project phases, especially in the field.
  • Manage and execute structural engineering deliverables on multiple projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineering firms, and contractors.
  • Host regular project updates, manage change orders, and ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication.
  • Define and manage structural scope requirements, including developing man-hour estimates and project schedules.
  • Prepare and/or review/approve structural material specifications, datasheets, and procurement support documents.
  • Participate in client/vendor/contractor meetings, 3D model reviews, and design reviews.
  • Assist with the development and/or review/approve structural drawings and Construction Work Packages (CWPs)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Project Manager in an Industrial Structural Steel, preferably in a fabrication shop environment.
  • Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineering designation with APEGA considered an asset.
  • Proven experience directing projects of various sizes and complexity simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Experience with TEKLA and AutoCAD.
  • PMP designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
  • Ability to handle own workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Written and Oral communication.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central 365 is considered an asset.
