Job DescriptionFrom September to June, the Schools & Retreats team turns ordinary weeks into extraordinary adventures Whether it's middle schoolers zip-lining for the first time, high schoolers bonding over campfires, or adults recharging on a team retreat and enjoying the food and facilities, we create life-changing experiences for everyone who visits. Each year, we welcome over 25,000 guests - students from grades 6 to 12, corporate groups, and church retreats. This team brings energy and excitement, creating memories that last a lifetime.
Kitchen Service Staff are essential in setting up and managing all hot and cold buffets, juice machines, and coffee stations in the dining areas. They help with washing and putting away dishes, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, taking out the trash, wiping down surfaces, and sanitizing workstations to keep the kitchen and dining halls clean and organized. Shifts will vary throughout the week, typically ranging from early mornings to evenings (like 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 6:00am – 10:30am/4pm – 7:30pm). They will also be required to work all three Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner shifts one day a week.
Staff are required to attend all meetings as outlined during staff training including Cadence and Small Group.
**Please note: All positions are required to work in other areas including program, washing dishes, housekeeping, grounds keeping and snow removal, and office coverage.
Skills and Attributes RequiredMuskoka Woods is looking for staff whose personal values match the MW Core Values which includes having a passion for working with children and youth.
Kitchen staff must have a strong work ethic, have a customer service mindset, be a team player, have a postivie attitude, be willing to work early morning shifts, and perform manual labour (unloading inventory, cleaning, mopping). Experience and a desire to work within the Kitchen Industry is preferred.
Salary$250.00 per week plus room and board
Contract DatesJanuary 4 - June 21, 2026
Co-op Contracts: Jan 4 - April
Please note: an optional unpaid week off is scheduled for all staff from March 23rd to March 27th 2026
Co-op students on the hunt for work placements can find their perfect fit at Muskoka Woods, with contracts specifically crafted to accommodate your school semester.
Essential Functions- Have physical strength and ability to lift and move small and large objects (ie. vacuum cleaner, garbage bags, boxes, and inventory)
- Work efficiently for 7 - 9 hours at a time
- Handle work projects that involve lifting and carrying lbs
- Be able to stoop, bend and crouch
- Communicate clearly and effectively with both staff and guests.
- All staff are required to uphold the Muskoka Woods Vision and Mission, Core Values and Aspirations, as well as all policies and procedures as outlined during our Staff Development Week held at the beginning of your contract.
- All Counsellors stay in a cabin with our guests. All other staff stay in shared staff accommodation.
- All Staff are required to live on property in Rosseau, Ontario for the duration of their contract.
