Job Description

As an Avian Groomer, you will be responsible for the grooming and basic care of a variety of bird species, including parrots, cockatiels, budgerigars, and more. Your duties will include nail, beak, and wing trimming. You will work closely with both birds and their owners to promote the wellbeing of our feathered clients and provide education on proper at-home care.

Key Responsibilities

· Grooming services including nail, beak, and wing trims

· Handling birds in a safe, gentle, and respectful manner

· Assessing birds for signs of stress or health issues and reporting concerns to management

· Cleaning and sanitizing grooming tools and workspaces

· Providing guidance and support to bird owners regarding at-home grooming and care

· Maintaining accurate records of services performed

Qualifications

· Experience working with birds in a grooming, veterinary, or shelter setting

· Comfortable handling a variety of bird species, sizes, and temperaments

· Strong knowledge of avian anatomy and behaviour

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Certification in avian grooming or animal care an asset

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
