**Travel to Office expectations**

For Remote Roles: If this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.

For Hybrid Roles: If this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Snr AR & Billing Manager you will be an integral part of our tightly knit accounting and finance team. The Cash Application Specialist is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely application of the company's overall cash inflow and supporting initiatives to improve related processes. You should have a strong customer service disposition and a high aptitude for learning. You will interact frequently with a variety of people at different levels within and outside the organization, and manage a variety of software applications. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of daily cash applications. 
  • Apply judgement (to review, analyze or come up with recommendations for how to apply certain rules to ensure customer expectations and accounting standards). 
  • Process cheque payments sent to the lockbox and scan physical cheques sent to the head office, ensuring timely deposit to the bank. 
  • Ensure adequate record of cheque copies to enable reconciliation of customer payment records. 
  • Process credit card payments. 
  • Responsible for allocating wires and direct deposits (EFT and ACH) to customers' invoices. 
  • Manage customers' accounts in the ERP, and process payments, applications and requests. 
  • Investigate and process any refunds to clients for overpayments or duplicated payments. 
  • Process non-sufficient funds (NSF) transactions and related documentation. 
  • Reconcile deposit clearing accounts for cheques, credit cards and direct deposits. 
  • Prepare journal entries for credit card and bank fees. 
  • Respond to payment enquiries from customers and colleagues. 
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, including small balance write-offs.  
  • Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities.  
  • Provide assistance/backup support to others in the Finance Department as required. 
  • Other special projects as required.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Post-secondary Diploma/Degree (Accounting/Business/Finance focus preferred).
  • Prior experience in an accounts receivable, cash applications/management or an accounting role is an advantage.
  • Strong customer service disposition.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time amid multiple deadlines.
  • Should be comfortable adopting new software applications.
  • Very good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Prior experience with relevant accounting software, specifically NetSuite, is an advantage.
$ $26.44 an hour At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The Canada base salary range for this position is $ $26.44 per hour, overtime eligible. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
