Critical Environment Data Center Technician
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for
a Critical Environment Data Center Technician
with 3+ year experience in a similar role, with capabilities in supporting mechanical/ electrical, and supporting water systems, generators and power supply equipment to place at our client, a Big Five Tech Giant. We have personally qualified the requirement with the hiring manager.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems (generators, PDUs, CRAC units, etc.).
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents and emergencies.
- Use telemetry and monitoring tools to track system performance and detect anomalies.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and installations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Support audits and inspections related to data center operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and work non-standard hours as needed.
- Perform basic monitoring of the performance of maintenance and operations of equipment (e.g., electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety) within the data center with supervision
- Safely assists in providing emergency monitoring and response to various abnormal conditions with supervision, utilizing emergency operating procedures (EOPs).
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
- Take daily operational readings of all electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Ability to follow operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities
- Energize a cabinet in a Colo
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) preventive maintenance quarterly and annually
- System control panel preventative maintenance
- Battery preventative maintenance
- Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code
- Previous datacenter experience a plus
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
- Assist in the troubleshooting, repair and replacement of instrument sensors and calibration.
Qualifications:
- Electrical and mechanical systems knowledge.
- 3+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g, electrical, mechanical, controls, data center).
- Familiarity with BMS and DCIM platforms.
- Basic networking and server hardware understanding.
- Experience with electrical systems in high-availability environments such as water systems/ power supply and generators
