Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently from Ashcroft across the border to Sumas, while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to operate heavy equipment (B-Trains hoppers/grain trailers). The Truck Driver will also be expected to perform proper pre/post trips and maintain the vehicle in good working condition.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial truck to transport freight to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight, utilizing provided equipment as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays
- Perform minor automotive repairs and regular maintenance on the truck as needed
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic regulations while on the road
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of freight transportation.
- Ability to cross border.
- Basic knowledge of automotive repair techniques is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
