Job Summary

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of assistance. You will provide compassionate care and support to clients in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. What you'll do

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to promote personal hygiene and comfort.
  • Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs, administering medication, and following care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, particularly for those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and meal preparation.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any changes to the healthcare team promptly.
  • Collaborate with families and healthcare professionals to develop effective care strategies that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations while providing compassionate support.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience in home health care or caregiving roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is beneficial.

Preferred qualifications

  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, or long-term care settings is an asset.
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and medication administration protocols is advantageous.
