Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time experienced Kitchen Helper in an established restaurant located in Mississauga.

Duties

  • Assist in basic food preparation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food handling practices meet health regulations
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment
  • Load and unload dishwasher
  • Remove garbage and recycled items, replace garbage bags, and sanitize garbage cans
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, washroom and dining areas
  • Assist with brining out meal orders to guests
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and practices within the food service industry
  • 1-2 years minimum related experience in Canada
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • The ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Be able to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision
