About the Role

Molly Tea is a beloved Shenzhen-founded international tea brand focused on high-quality Jasmine tea beverages. We're excited to be opening our first BC location at Union Square in Richmond and looking for we're an energetic and dependable Assistant Manager to help lead our team alongside the Store Manager. Key Responsibilities
Store Support & Operations
  • Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures.
  • Help ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed for drink prep, cleanliness, and customer service.
  • Step in to lead shifts when the Store Manager is off-site.
Team Support & Training
  • Support with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Provide on-shift coaching to baristas and cashiers to maintain high standards.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and efficient work culture.
Scheduling & Shift Coverage
  • Assist Store Manager in preparing weekly schedules and managing shift coverage.
  • Adjust staffing levels during busy periods to ensure smooth service.
Inventory & Supplies
  • Help track stock levels and alert the Store Manager when supplies need replenishment.
  • Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse to pick up supplies as needed — a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
Customer Service
  • Lead by example in providing warm, attentive customer service.
  • Handle customer concerns or feedback in a professional manner.
Reporting & Communication
  • Relay shift updates, operational issues, and suggestions to the Store Manager
  • Support in tracking daily sales and productivity targets.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or shift lead role in a café, milk tea shop, or similar quick-service environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must possess a valid BC driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to coach and motivate part-time team members.
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Bilingual in English/Chinese strongly preferred.
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 (by opening day).
