Job Function:

The Wellness Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and promoting wellness initiatives that support the physical, mental, social and financial wellbeing of employees.  This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver programs that improve health outcomes, engagement and workplace wellbeing.

General Accountabilities:

• Design, implement, and manage wellness programs
• Coordinate health education initiatives, workshops, seminars and awareness campaigns
• Support wellbeing strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Promote participation in wellness programs through effective communication
• Develop educational materials, presentations and wellness resources
• Act as a wellness ambassador, fostering a culture of health living and psychological safety
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure programs are running efficiently
• Coordinate program logistics, scheduling and delivery
• Serve as a liaison between employees, leadership and external partners
• Track participation, outcomes, trends and related wellness initiatives
• Analyze data to measure program effectiveness and ROI
• Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership
• Provide guidance and resources related to wellness supports
• Stay current with wellness trends and legislation
• Deliver presentations across the company
• Attend special events on-site

Selection Criteria:

• Prior experience in developing and measuring wellness programs for large Canadian organizations.
• Prior experience with managing vendors, including selection, ongoing management, and measurement.
• Experience working in an Unionized environment
• Understanding and use of applicable computer programs i.e. SAP, Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, and Outlook.
• Superior oral and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills
• Four-year university degree in related discipline and/or college diploma in a related field
• Two to four years work experience in Human Resources or Wellness-related department
