Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through vehicle repairs and maintenance while ensuring a positive experience. This role requires strong communication skills, automotive knowledge, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is highly valued, as well as the ability to upsell services effectively. The Service Advisor plays a key role in building customer trust and loyalty while supporting the overall success of the service department.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a welcoming environment
- Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues and service needs
- Explain repair and maintenance options clearly, providing recommendations based on mechanical knowledge
- Prepare detailed repair orders and communicate estimated costs and timeframes effectively
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services and quality standards are met
- Upsell additional services or products that benefit the customer's vehicle health, enhancing revenue opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
- Maintain organized records of service history and customer interactions for future reference
Experience
- Previous dealership experience or mechanic background is preferred, providing a solid understanding of automotive repair processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge to explain technical issues in an understandable manner
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
- Experience in sales or upselling techniques to promote additional services effectively
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with customers and team members
