The Opportunity
This role is responsible for evolving the way Technical Safety BC manages and uses digital products and platforms used by Technical Safety BC clients and safety officers. This role will collaborate with customers and represent their voice in scrum teams to help the team deliver client-centric solutions to support strategic projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that client needs are at the centre as you help build the product roadmap and that communication and processes flow smoothly within the development team. This role requires the ability to define customer and user needs, understand the digital portfolio, identify intersections and dependencies, while collaborating internally and externally to support our highly cross functional teams to deliver meaningful and impactful experiences to our clients.

Reports to: Leader, Digital Innovation
As a Digital Product Owner, you will:
- Drive business outcomes for multiple digital products. Represent the interests of client / user during product development. When appropriate, negotiate contracts and manage relationships with third party vendors.
- Lead a collaborative user research process with customers to elicit and document business and functional requirements. Work closely with technical owners to define related non-functional requirements.
- Own and maintain the product backlog in collaboration with the technical owner by building, maintaining, and prioritizing the epics and user stories with input from IT, Technical Programs, Product and other stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement activities including but not limited to usability testing, user acceptance testing backlog maintenance and prioritization.
- Lead the resolution of key customer and stakeholder concerns and escalations.
- Ensure that post operations activities and action items are completed.
- Create and drive change management plans including but not limited to user documentation, operational resourcing, and product support plan.
- Identify, prioritize, and address ongoing backlog to support team development and goals.
- Create and manage repository of digital artifacts across Technical Safety BC's digital portfolio ensuring cross team visibility and consistency in collaboration.
- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure digital strategies align to current and future state architecture and approach.
- Represent the product needs of the client / user for ongoing portfolio management, enabling clear priorities and goals across the team, identifying and resolving blockers, and providing recommendations to leadership.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in related field
- Minimum 7 years of digital product management and/or program management experience with customer-facing applications
- Product management discipline skills, including proven track record of creating and managing projects for cross functional teams
- Proven experience managing cross functional digital portfolios, including budget and resource planning
- Familiar with agile methodologies
- Collaboration across multiple disciplines (Product, UX, digital marketing, IT, client experience etc.)
- Ability to drive results independently while thriving in collaborative environments
- Has a deep desire to learn and improve by seeking, accepting, and acting on productive feedback
- Desire and ability to learn quickly and work in an agile environment
