ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Compliance Specialist works within the team at Accreditation Canada that plans and conducts compliance assessment visits in RPA (residences for seniors).
Reporting to the Program Manager, the incumbent ensures the quality, rigor, and consistency of compliance reports produced following the visits. They use their analytical skills to ensure consistency in compliance assessments and the quality of observations made by the visiting team.
They provide support and training to visitors to promote understanding, consistent application of regulatory requirements, and the development of their skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review compliance reports produced following visits to residences for seniors (RPA);
- Request clarifications or additional information from visitors to support the clarity and consistency of observations.
- Contribute to the analysis and validation of compliance assessments, ensuring adherence to the regulatory framework.
- Maintain ongoing collaboration and communication with relevant partners (network institutions, etc.).
- Participate in the support and training of visitors with a view to continuous improvement of practices.
- Prepare follow-up reports, annual summaries, and any other reports related to activities.
- Participate in optimizing support documents for visitors, templates, and work procedures to improve process efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to the follow-up of RPAs serving First Nations clients and maintain close ties with relevant partners, including Indigenous Services Canada (ISC).
Must Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in administration, management, social sciences, public health, or any other relevant discipline.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, ideally in a compliance, program evaluation, quality, or inspection context in health or social services.
- Excellent knowledge of the RPA Certification Regulation and the current authorization process for residences for seniors.
- Strong analytical and judgment skills, with a marked attention to rigor, consistency, and quality of information.
- Excellent command of spoken and written French and good ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, fostering collaboration with visitors, institutional partners, and network establishments.
- Advanced office software skills, particularly in using Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Attention to detail and ability to write, revise, and structure documents clearly and professionally.
