Overview

TIW WESTERN Inc. is an established Calgary based manufacturing company and recognized leading supplier of thermal industrial equipment, including heat recovery and once through steam generators.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Laborer/Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, contributing to various tasks in a dynamic work environment.

Duties

  • Handle material within the shop and outdoors as required.
  • Assist the Shipping and Receiving department with loading and unloading.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the shop and in the yard as required, including general cleaning, snow removal, and organizing shop fabrication areas
  • Assist welders and fitters during the fabrication process as required.
  • Operate and maintain various power tools and hand tools effectively.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience in shipping & receiving is considered an asset.
  • Proven experience with power tools, hand tools, and mechanical knowledge is preferred.
  • Able to frequently lift/handle parts and equipment up to 50 Lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification may be required.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes; certification may be required.
  • Must be physically capable of working in both indoor and outdoor environments, in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in English language and good communication skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

  • This is a fulltime position on a 4 days per week x 10 hours per day schedule, from Monday to Thursday. Occasional overtime may be available.
