Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review detailed Civil3D models for land development, municipal infrastructure, and transportation projects

  • Create and oversee erosion and sediment control plans, grading, servicing, stormwater management, and site plan drawings

  • Prepare plan, profile, section, and earthworks drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements

  • Lead coordination of designs and drawings with internal team members and external consultants

  • Represent the company in client and stakeholder meetings, fostering strong relationships and identifying business development opportunities

  • Ensure projects meet approval authority guidelines, by-laws, and codes

  • Mentor and train junior technologists and EITs on best practices in civil design and drafting

  • Proactively improve design and modeling techniques to enhance team efficiency

  • Conduct occasional site visits to collect field data, review contractor progress, and document findings in standardized reports

  • Support construction reviews to ensure compliance with design specifications

  • Prepare engineering reports and support technical documentation

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of company processes and standards

  • Other duties as assigned by Civil Division Manager/Team Lead

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent

  • Eligible for or holding a C.Tech., C.E.T. designation through OACETT or L.E.T. designation through PEO preferred

  • 12+ years of experience in land development, municipal infrastructure, and/or transportation engineering

  • Strong knowledge of approval processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards

  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Civil3D and MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Ability to coach and mentor junior technicians/technologists

  • Exceptional drafting skills with a focus on detail and accuracy

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • High level of organization and time management

  • Commitment to professional development and a collaborative team environment

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
